• The palace is allegedly "saddened and perplexed" by Prince Harry's recent statement about their meeting.
  • Harry's spokesperson claimed that sources were trying to sabotage reconciliation efforts between him and His Majesty.
  • The statement came amid a seemingly false report that Harry felt like an "official visitor" during his meeting with Charles.

Prince Harry just released a rare statement hitting back at a recent report about his meeting with King Charles, claiming that sources are trying to "sabotage" their reconciliation. And apparently "the palace" is confused.

Per a source who spoke to The Sunday Times, the palace is "saddened and perplexed" by Harry's statement, and "the reality is that senior aides have been working behind the scenes to improve what is a delicate but important private family relationship."

A source gave a similar statement to the Daily Mail, claiming that "such public pronouncements only serve to make that endeavor more difficult."

Meanwhile, Rob Shuter's ShuterScoop spoke to a courtier who said, "Every time there’s progress, he runs to the press and ruins it. He demands privacy but never shuts up. He needs attention like air." Another source said, "Charles is a forgiving man, but not endlessly so. The Queen’s rule of ‘no half-in, half-out’ remains. Harry’s royal role is over. What’s left is family—if he can stop turning private moments into headlines."

Well then!

In case you missed the statement from Prince Harry's spokesperson, they said, "Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false. The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged."

The recent reporting in question came from The Sun, who claimed that Harry's meeting with Charles was "distinctly formal" and that Harry felt more like an "official visitor" than a family member. They also reported that Harry gave his dad a framed photo, which the spokesperson confirmed, saying, "While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess."
